Alert "There are 1603 updates available."

Backup Exec Version: 12.0 Rev. 1364

Operating System:  Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard x64 Edition Service Pack 2

Error: "There are 1603 updates available. To download and install available updates, click the Tools menu and then click LiveUpdate."

When I run LiveUpdate usually I get one or two updates successfully.  I still, however, receive alerts that there are 1603 updates available.  Shouldn't it say there are zero updates available or not show any alert whatsoever?

I found a work-around to this strange message:

1. Click the tools drop-down menu.

2. Click Alert Categories.

3. Uncheck "Enable Alerts" for the LiveUpdate Information category.
