Append job requests overwritable media

I have three brand new tapes that I labelled this morning and added to the Backup Media set. This set has an overwrite protection period of four weeks and allows for unlimited appends. After labelling the media, it reports that the tapes are overwrite protected until next month.

Since I'm forced to append to these new tapes, I create a job to append to the media and overwrite only if appendable media is not found. The full backup spans three tapes. Tape 1 fills up, the tape is ejected, and Backup Exec asks for an overwritable tape. I have no overwritable tapes, however. Only two new tapes that contain no data that are appendable.

How can I span this job across three new tapes if they are overwrite protected?

Hello,

Put the media into the scratch media set and make it overwritable and choose the option as "Overwrite scratch media before overwriting recyclable media".
