Auto response to alerts not working after backup exec 10.0 SP3 installation

After installing Backup Exec 10.0 SP3, the media ejects as normal, but a alert appears requesting removal of media from the drive. The next scheduled job does not start until a response is entered.

Prior to SP3, everything was normal, as in automated respose to alerts via "Configure Alerts" and media server configuration using BEUTILITY as described in a zillion KB articles.

On one server I was able to delete the old job and the new job seems to be ejecting and respnding to alerts normally. On another server this did not work. I am hesitant to apply SP3 to other servers that I manage until I can get a patch or KB article on how to fix this problem/annoyance.

It appears that ADAMM is set to respond to all alerts with "NONE", when it should be "YES" from administrator not ADAMM. Is there a way to get/seize control from ADAMM? There are a few unanswered discussion on this forum for people with more or less the exact same problem as me.

At present, I have turned off auto-eject and am having somone manually remove the tape - this is a annoying workaround when the options are there to auto-eject and auto-respond to alerts!!

Hello,

Are you using backup exec 10.0 5484? If yes, then you can upgrade to BE 10d from the link below:

Symantec Backup Exec (tm) 10d rev. 5629 for Windows Servers Installation Files
http://support.veritas.com/docs/279332

Following this, you will need to reinstall all the remote agents. You can t hen reconfigure the response to alerts as per steps in the technote below:

http://support.veritas.com/docs/254685

Revert if the issue persists.

Note : If we do not receive your reply within two business days, this post would be marked assumed answered and would be moved to answered questions pool.

Regards.
