B2D Insufficient Disk Space Error

mmorgan

We have a 9TB NAS device split into two 4.5TB virtual drives and we use BEWS 11d v.7170. Our backup server is constantly complaining about running out of disk space.  But, when I check it, there's plenty of files that can be over written. I'm thinking maybe something is just misconfigured. What are the recommended settings for a B2D folder (maximum file size, concurrent operations, disk space reserve, etc.)? Thanks.

Hi there,
as far as I know, the maximum size of a lun you can present to a Windows Server is 2TB.
You have a lot of "IFs" if you want to assign more thar 2TB...

What I need to do is break the NAS into six 1.5TB virtual drives? Thanks you for your help.

LUN does not equate to NAS here....
The NAS provisions the LUN's, and Windows just sees a file share.  This should be a non-issue.

If you had some internal HDD's, and they were over 2TB as a single LUN, you would have to move to dynamic disks, and do something other steps to make it work and be reliable.

Now if there was a limitation in BE11d that you are not aware of...
