B2D Overwrite Protection Period (OPP)

If I understand this correctly, if I set a B2D Media Set for an OPP of -0- hours, it may cause issues.  Instead one may prefer to set it for something like one hour if they desire to have the media set almost immediately available for overwrite.  If that is true, what will happen if I set the media set for one hour OPP and the backup job takes five hours?  Will some of the backup get overwritten, or does BUE 'know' not to overwrite data that is part of the same job?

 Yes

But any following job that starts more than the OPP later (one hour in your example) will be allowed to overwrite the BKF files, depending on media set specifications and the option to "use overwritable media in target media set before scratch"  (tools/Options/Media Mangement)

if you want to keep your data for a week, then set the OPP to 6 days, for two weeks, 13 days etc
