BE 10d service won't start after Continuous Protection Server install

I installed BE 10d on a fresh build server. So far no problem.
Everything worked just find until I also installed Continuous Protection Server which we got included with BE.

After rebooting the BE server service cannot be started.
The status is 'starting' and it cannot be stopped.
Even trying to stop the beserver.exe in task manager doesn't work.

I tried uninstalling CPS but this also locks up.
The same with repair on BE ... locks up.

I tried all the suggestions I could find in the forum :
- MDAC version is ok (checked with component checker.
- set the DCOM security for the account that is used to start the services

I use a local account that is in the local admin group.
For security reasons I can't use a domain admin account (I don't have access to this group).

Any ideas?

Hi Wim,

What is the exact error you get when you start the service?

Did you check the hard disk space before installing CPS?

What happens when you stop all the CPS services?

HI,

Hard disk space is ok.
When the server boots you get an error saying that one service did not start but nothing can be found in the event log.

When you restart the service manually it says that the start timed out and the service stays in starting status.

This happens even when i stop all CPS services.

I have rebuild the server again, because I couldn't even un-install CPS or BE.

One thing is that when I installed CPS I didn't enter a license key.

I won't install CPS again because will not use it anyway.

So for the moment the problem is ok ...

Hello,

What is the hard disk space on the server? In case you need to install CPS and use it later, ensure that you have the adequate settings and prerequisites:
