BE 2010 fails to lauch install

I'm attempting to upgrade BE 11d to BE 2010.  I get the following errro message.
06-30-2010,10:56:43 : ERROR: Installation failed with error -532459699. GetLastError = :0

Server is 2003 R2 Enterprise SP2.  I am launching the install from a folder on the hard drive as I don't have a DVD drive in this server.  I searched and have not been able to find anyone with this same errror message.

We wont be able to upgrade from 11d to BE2010...We need to upgrade to 12.5 first than BE2010...

I dont agree with the above post. Direct upgrade from 11d to 2010 is possible. Below is the article for the same

Could you please let us know on which component  the installation fails.

To resolve your issue, follow

1. Repair .Net framework 2.0

2. Install DonNetFx from installation CD or folder "X:\BE\WinNT\Install\" (Where "X" is the Installation CD or Installation folder)

3. Reboot the server

4. Run Setup.exe and it should run fine

MY CONFIGURATION IS
HP PROLIANT 350 I JUST UPGRADE IT IN WINDOWS 2008 SDT ED FROM WIN 2003 SP2
I COULD LAUNCH THE SETUP OF BE 2010 . I HAVE THIS IN THE LOG FILE:

06-30-2010,17:45:23 : "-SIEGE9\SYMANTEC (E)\BE\WINNT\INSTALL\BE32\SETUP.EXE" "
06-30-2010,17:45:23 : Executing alternate Core OS executable:

Thank You so much for your help.  This did indeed solve my installation issue.  I did not have .net 3.5 installed at all prior to this.  I'm guessing that was the key.  I would have thought the system check utility would have pointed that out if that was the problem.

Anyway it's installing now.  Can't wait to fire off a backup of my VMWare machines!
