BE 2012 - defrag volumes?

Hi Forum,

BE 2012 on Windows 2008 R2 SP1.

I have C: drive for system and application binaries.

D: for BE catalog

and several other volumes for D2D staging (not de-dupe) before backups are duplicated to tape.

Is it safe to run Windows defrag on C:, and D: and the D2D target volumes whilst the BE server is generally quiet during the day?

It is perfectly fine. Defrag is recommended as well in http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH164267
