I am trying to install Q118478.BEWS.91.4691.1_264658 on a Windows 2000 machine. Every time I try to install I get the error:
Internal Error 2755. 1610, E:\BE91CDROM\WINNT\INSTALL\BE\VERITAS Backup Exec For Windows Servers.msi
I have re-downloaded the zip file several times (both the single zip as well as the zip parts) all with the same results. I even tried unzipping with two different programs also with no help.
Looking at these forms has not been any help.
I should mention that my server had 9.1 installed and running just fine but the drive containing BE91 (in my case drive E:) died. When I tried to reinstall BE91 on a new E: drive (repairing the install) it died complaining about the database being invalid. Even an uninstall failed so was forced to use a manual uninstall.
I think I got the registry all cleaned out, but there still must be something sitting around that is causing any problems.
Any and all suggestions are welcome at this point. Oh, upgrading to a new release of BE is not an option.
