BE installation issue

good morning

Due to an HD issue, I have to reinstall BE 12.5

the installation runs properly until the SQL installation

the autorun.inf could not be extract, we can not add .this file anymore to our servers

I have tried to install first the SQLServer2005_BC (install without any issue) and than re-run the installation of BE

still the same issue

I have downloaded the trial version 2014, same issue

I have run with a local admin

I have run with a domain admin

without success

any idea how I can managed this ?

What is the OS that you are using on the machine which you load BE? Check the SCL below to make sure that it is supported http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH62301

this server is 2,5 years old

was able to install backupexe at this time without any issue

I have 3 other servers, same OS, Same version of Backupexec runing without any issue

could not be a compatibily issue, I'm face to the same problem with backupexe 2014

it is a nightmare

I have seen this occuring when an AV is installed on the system and the AV prevents the proper extraction of the installation files.

Either allow the AV to successfully extract (by not quarantine / deleting autorun.inf) or disable the AV temporarily during the installer extraction.

...bear in mind that BE 12.5 does not support being installed on Windows Server 2008 R2. You needed BE 2010 R3 for this, and BE 2014 definitely also supports Windows Server 2008 R2.
