BEWS 12.0.1364 HOTFIX 309178 (X64) failed to install

I'm continually getting the error message "Update BEWS 12.0.1364 HOTFIX 309178 (X64) failed to install". When I check the Backup Exec installation log, I see the message:

•  The following patches need to be installed before this patch can successfully continue. {841B56C1-3081-48A2-8221-6E52046265A6}

Followed by the message:

• V-225-91: ERROR: PrepPatch failed with a value of 1602

The log ends with the message:

• V-225-136: The patch failed to install. Return code: 1602

I've since rebooted the server in case some previous patch still required a reboot, but this did not work. Please help.

Winston,

Before the 309178 HOTFIX will install, it requires Service Pack 2 to be installed. Have you installed that yet? You can find out what has already been installed in the Backup Exec UI under Help->About.
