Backup Exchange cluster over backup network

Hello,

I've a 2 node exchange 2003 cluster running on subnet A, a backup exec server is also running on the same subnet.

I've created another subnet B, which is gigabit, to backup the exchange cluster. The primary node is node A. Restrict anonymous registery settings are set properly on both nodes.

The version of backup exec is 10.0 and agents are installed on the both nodes for same version, the backupexec server is configured to use the backup subnet only for the jobs. Now when I go to creat a backup job, I see both nodes listed under my domain/workgroup name. But the virtual server is not listed. Any reason for that? So I added that in user selection and the Exchange virtual server appeared and within were the the information mailstore etc which I am able to select for backup.

When I submit the job, I get the error:
Job ended: Monday, September 26, 2005 at 4:05:08 PM
Completed status: Failed
Final error: 0xe0000f02 - The media server could not connect to the remote computer. The remote computer may not exist on the selected subnet,
but the option to use any available network route was not selected. Try selecting an alternative network interface,
or allow Backup Exec to choose any available network interface.
Final error category: Resource Errors

For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-3842

I've looked at the veritas support site but the solution given there doesn't apply. Any ideas?

Why doesn't the virtual server appear as a server under the selection? I've added the IP resource to virtual server as well to make it available.

I've tried it. Same error. Have also tried that in Debug Mode. Can post debug logs if needed.

The only error posted in event log is the sameone as given by veritas (posted in the top message).

Following is the message from SGMON log file. I've only copied the lines that were related to network. Please not that both nodes can be backed up individually over 192 network. Its only the clustered virtual server that can not be backed up.

Hello,

- Check the option selected under Network and Firewall tab under Tools > Options. Try using "any available network adapter"
- Also enable advertising from the remote servers. Refer following technote.
Title:
How to enable/disable Advertising on Remote Agent for Windows Servers in Backup Exec for Windows Servers 10.0

If I check that option then its able to backup over the normal network, but as you can see from my question, I am asking about backup over backup network to separate normal and backup traffic. The mentioned link doesn't solve my problem.
