Backup Exec 10.0 on Windows XP Pro with Seagate STT20000A Travan drive

Eric_Due
Not applicable
I am using a fresh copy of Backup Exec 10.0 on a PIII Windows XP Pro, all service packs with a Seagate STT20000A Travan drive. With the Veritas drivers version 5.1.1.1 the drive is not useable. The software sees the drive, but cannot perform any functions on the drive. No error messages, just pauses when the job starts.

What does work: I can rollback the drivers to the Microsoft version, reboot, run Windows Backup, and the device works just fine. Backs up, restores, functions properly.

Looking for some help here URGENTLY!

Hello,
The drivers from Veritas can be used only if the tape is listed in the hardware compatibility list. Else it is advised to use the OEM drivers.
