Backup Exec 10.0d and Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange 4.6

We are currently experiencing a significant delay when BackupExec is attempting to backup the Microsoft Exchange database, due to a conflict with Symantec Mail Security 4.6 I have located the technical article that suggests disabling the Mail Security service, or disabling VSAPI, but that is not reasonable fix for this issue. Is there an update in the works to resolve this issue?
