Backup Exec 10 Install Error

When running an install for Backup Exec Windows Server 10 on a Windows 2003 Server with SP1 I see the following error.

Error 1920.Service appmgr (appmgr) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start the system service.

I can either retry or cancel - retry gets the same error.

Has anyone seen this before - it's right at the end of the install when the services are starting, I can't even see a service with that name when searching the registry?

Mike,

Make sure you deselect the Backup Exec Web Administration Console during installation process if you want to avoid this error.

The Web Administration Console is not selected when I try the install. But I still get the error.

Then:

- Clean uninstall all BEWS 10.0 footprints

- Reboot the server

- Download and install (without BEWAC or any other option selected) the latest build
