Backup Exec 11D R7170 and Quantum Superloader Slow Performance.

Hi,

Currently just purchased a Quantum Superloader 3 SAS tape drive and we currently using Backup Exec 11D 7170 SP5.

We currently experiencing slow job rate when backing up the local server or a remote server.

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on resolving the performance issues.

Thank you.

In the job log check if any resource is taking long time for backup. Install Microsoft drivers for the auto loader and Symantec drivers for the tape drive. Check the event viewer for any hardware related errors

HI,

Can't see any errors in the event viewer.

Tape drive using the Symantec driver version - 5.1.25.0

Autoloader using windows driver but is showing up as unknown medium changer

When the backup job starts it starts of around about 200mb/min and climes to 1300mb/min but after a few seconds the job rate starts to falls again.

When you install Microsoft driver for an auto loader it appear as "Unknown Medium Changer"

I don't see "Quantum Superloader 3 SAS inetrface" in the hardware compatibility list of 11d.

SCSI and FC are the supported interfaces.

I think the issue may be server related.

Just tried backing up a NAS server that's running server 2003. and its reaching 3764.0MB/MIN and its only been running for about 30 minutes.
