Backup Exec 11d and Microsoft .net framework

So we are seeing the issue on this document.  If you go into Add/Remove programs and attempt to remove Microsoft .net Framework 2.0 SP1, the system responds that it cannot do this as it will break installed programs and gives you no choice.

 

I have even used the microsoft windows installer cleanup tool and removerd it that way.  Still no luck.

Is there a fix for this.  Cant believe I am going to have to rip this out manually (if its possible) just to get the backup software re-installed.

We are seeing the same issue.  Server 2003 has .NET 2.0, 3.0 & 3.5 installed with SPs.  Backup Exec 11d installer bombs with directions to remove .Net 2.0 through add remove programs.

Can SQL Express 2005 be installed and create an instance for BE? 

We had a functioning BE install that was removed to install SQL 2008.  Of course now BE 11d will not reinstall.  Is there any solution other than upgrading BE to 12.5?
