Backup Exec 12.5 & Lotus Notes

Two questions regarding Backup Exec 12.5 and Lotus Notes.  1) Do I still need to open database agent with this version (If I want to backup open DBs).  2) Does this agent need to be installed and does it run as an additional service or is it just a .dll on the machine?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
the Backup Exec Agent on the remote machine (the source) is (nearly) always the same bits and bytes.
It runs as a service (Backup Exec Remote Agent - beremote.exe).
The "Notes-Agent" is just a serial key that unlocks the functionality to back up LN Servers on The Media Server.

Hope this helps,
Oliver
