Hello there,

   Refer to the following technotes:

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH21545 : Exchange 2000/2003 Mailbox backup fails on specific mailboxes with the error "Directory not found. Can not backup directory ?Exchange User [euser] and its subdirectories."

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH10711 : The error message: "Unable to attach to Microsoft Exchange Directory. Device cannot be found" is returned when running a backup after upgrading from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000.

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH20986 : "Directory not found" errors when performing concurrent Individual Mailbox Backups using the Exchange option for Backup Exec

I am sure this will help to resolve the issue.

Thanks,

-Sush...

What confuses me is when I run the same job which fails when I try to back up to "back-up-to-Disk", when I changed it to the tape it will successfully backs up...

Here is the error message I'm getting"

Job ended: Saturday, October 02, 2010 at 9:40:51 AM
Completed status: Failed
Final error: 0xe00084af - The directory or file was not found, or could not be accessed.
Final error category: Job Errors

For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-33967

BTW: I originally created this job to back to the tape, because of brick level restore decided to try it to backup to the folder and just changed the device to back-up-to-Disk folder...if it helps:)

What are the selections?? Have you selected Microsoft Information Store as well as the individual mailboxes for the backups??

I would say that you will require to only select the Microsoft Information Store.

Thanks,
