Backup Exec 2010 and Windows Server Core 2008

Hi,

I'm looking for some assistance with server requirements for Backup Exec Agent for MS Active Directory.

We currently have a licence for Backup Exec Agent for MS Active Directory installed on one of our Windows 2000 Domain Controllers. We are looking at upgrading our domain soon and our Domain Controllers will be running on Windows Server 2008 R2 Server Core.

I have looked at the system requirements for Backup Exec 2010 Agent for MS Active Directory and have so far been unable to find confirmation it will work on a DC running on Windows Server 2008 R2 Server Core.

Has anyone had any experience with this setup, or can someone point me to the right area where this is confirmed (or not confirmed) as compatible?

Many thanks.

Hi Adam,

Win2008 core would be certianly compatible with BE 2010 once you upgrade you Dc to win2008 r2 please install remote agent on core m/c & then backup the system state with active directory license installed which would be able to give you GRT view for your Domain controller database

This is the link for Backup Exec (tm) 2010 and 2010 R2 Software Compatibility List (SCL)

Thank You
