Has anyone experience with Backup Exec 2014 and 3-ways NDMP ? Trying to make a setup where VNX connect's to Backup Exec Server on Ethernet and sends data to DataDomain also on Ethernet. NDMP via BackupExec.pdf

Alright, so the above config should work, though its not considered as 3-way NDMP.
As utilizing the OST capabilities of the DataDomain, one could expect an increase in performance. You could get better performance if you are licensed for VTL for the DataDomain & if there is a spare FC port which can be used to setup the VTL for the VNX as in this case the ethernet data path wouldn't be involved.

Are you facing any issues while setting this up or are you looking for real-time experience shared from other end users ?

Im not sure this will work / supported. Cannot find it in HCL list - so asking for experience / knowledge about this possible setup.

I am not sure if this qualifies as 3-way NDMP since as per the HCL ~
3-way:- Data travels from disk on an NDMP host to a tape device on another NDMP host of the same vendor. Backup data is sent over the local network.
afaik, you could add the VNX as a NDMP server to Backup Exec (do confirm VNX device is listed in the HCL) and add the DataDomain as an OST storage device to Backup Exec. This is not 3-way NDMP, but this config should work.
EDIT** Let me double-check on this & get back to you.

Hi VJware
In that case do you get the performance boost ? that is the primary focus - to get a performance boost. The normal procedure would be to let the Server run the job - but this surely is not the fastes way to do it.
