Backup Exec 8.6 - OFO error

George_Wilgram
Not applicable
We inconsistently get an OFO error that states "The OFO file has reached it's maximum size, and cannot be incremented anymore". In the job log, the following error is displayed: "Unexpected end of backup set encountered on Compaq 3". This message is always in the verify section of the log.

I have researched the knowledgebase, and have tried numerous fixes - none of which work. I have gone up to the max size of the file, and tried numerous combinations of min/max sizes.

The server is a Compaq Proliant with 2GB memory. There is 1GB freespace on C: and 60GB on D: (OFO is set to D)Function of server is email, Lotus Notes, running version 6.5.

Does anyone have any solutions and/or suggestions?

Thank you.

Hi There

What i would try is increasing the MIN value.

You have to remember that when you Backup the volume that contains the Static file the MAXIMUM setting that you entered is not used instead it uses the MINIMUM setting as its MAXIMUM value and in turn can produce the "has reached maximum size error".

So increase MIN to say 2-3 GB just as a start and lower the MAX to say 5GB see how that goes.

Hope this helps.
