Backup Exec Databases

Hello,

we recently had a hard drive crash on our CASO server that was housing our BE databases. We have been able to bring up another drive, but we can't get our postgreSQL services or SQL agent (BKUPEXEC) to start anymore. I tried using the install media to run a repair, but that has not corrected the issue. We are constantly getting an error that the servers cannot access the ODBC.

Has anyone experienced this issue and know of a remedy? Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Is this happening on the MMS servers, or on the CASO itself? How did you restore the database on the CASO? Does it have the same name & IP address?

Thanks!

If the PostGres database won't start that usually means an issue with the content of the Deduplication Storage Folder (possibly corrupt or missing files) and to be honest probably will need a formal support case to resolve.

The SQL agent does not normally get started (and might even usually be disabled) on a BE server, usng the default SQL Express setup - does the SQL instance itself start?

If the SQL instance does not start do the System and Application event logs show anything AND do you have a backup of the Backup Exec database for from before your problem as you may need to recover it.
