Hello All , I had and issue with My Backup Exec 2010 R3 started a week ago , my buckups takes for ever on Verify stage ..
My Backups go in two stages , one B2D and then to tape.
Restarted the server , and realised the the deduplication folder is offline , googled and searched here and there found i need to check services .. and when i checked services i realised that "Backup Exec Deduplication Engine" is not started .. tried to start it .. it gave me error

Check the spoold.log found under the log sub-dir of the DeDupe storage. Post this log as well.
If running any AV, do set it to exclude from scanning the BE processes and the DeDupe folder.

Log file attached .. and i had excluded the folder what you mentioned from AV , however it was working fine with the antivirus.

The problem is with the 0.bin file. I would recommend to log a formal support case so that this can be fixed without any adverse effect.
Additionally, if you have indexing enabled on the DeDupe volume, pls disable it.

It may be a simple fix, however without having a closer look @ your system or without having support with you while the fix is being implemented, it is quite risky. I don't think you would want to take the chance of corrupting the complete DeDupe folder.
