Hello,

I was wondering if anybody knows what the following error's means

- The job failed with the following error: The script associated with this job contained no valid selections.

- Unable to create a snapshot of the virtual machine. The virtual machine may be too busy to quiesce to take the snapshot.

These error's comes back all the time, is there a solution for this?

I'v looked on:

And use google all the time, but wthout luck,

Is there someone with a possible solution?

Thank you,

Hi

For snapshot error :

1. Un-install remote agent & VMware tools from the VM.

2. Rebooted the VM, reinstall VMWare tools without Filesystem Sync Driver and Volume Shadow Copy Services Support.

3. Rebooted the VM, re-install remote agent & re-configure job for VM without AOFO.

Let me know how it goes...

@Munir, if the solution that you are suggesting comes from a Technote, we highly recommend that you always provide a link to the direct source, i.e the link to the technote in this context. Thanks!

Hi Swati,

I would certainly do that in the futhure, however this tech article does not mention the correct steps of un-installing/re-installing of BE remote agent at cretain point as well as rebooting the server(VM) but in future I would add my steps as well as TN for the same....Thanks for the feedback...

What i forget to mension is that the VM is turned off when the backup is running

so i think that the solution from Munir won't work because the VM can't be busy when he's off.

Is there a solution for this?

Thank you,

Please make sure you have 'Back up virtual machines that are powered off' option selected under vmware in the backup job properties.

Also apply all the HF to BE server for the same.

Hot Fixes for BackupExec

He is saying to make sure that you have applied all current service to your media server.

(You should also re-push all remote agents after updating your media server)
