Backup Exec for Windows Servers with IDR vs. Backup Exec System Recovery

I'm sure this has been answered before, but what exactly is the different between the two? Do they not perform the same basic function?

We currently are using Backup Exec for Windows Servers to backup all of our servers. Luckily we have had no major failures. However, if failure did occur will IDR not perform a restore of my server as System Recovery would?

IDR is designed to be used with identical or very similar hardware

BESR can be used to restore bare metal to completely different hardware

IDR is designed to handle restores from devices such as Tapes, Loaders and Backup-to-disk (B2D) devices. Backup Exec System Recovery is designed to recover from Volume Images files.

Both IDR and Backup Exec System Recovery can be used to recover to completely different hardware except that IDR requires that you have the same number of hard-disks {with sizes equal or greater) as the original layout ( for automated recovery only ).
