We use Backup Exec 2010 on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard.
Since last week,a job daily-scheduled has begun taking about 6 hours for about 80GB.
Before,it took only 1 hour.Evidently the throughput gets down from 2200MB/m to 230MB/m.
Searching reasons,we suppose that some Windows Update gets influence on it,
because this has begun happening after applying Windows Update as one time, and we have not changed anything else.
So please teach me which updates are interrupting, and will it cause some ploblem if we unistall that.
Here is the list of updates that we have applied at 24th July:
Srv.2008 Security Update(KB2503665,KB2511455,KB2535512,KB2536275,KB2555917,KB2271195,KB2507618,KB2510531,KB2544893,
KB2509553,KB2506212,KB2124261,KB2476490,KB2507938,KB2536276)
Srv.2008 Update(KB982666,KB2506014,KB2533552,KB2552343,KB2534366)
.NET Security Update(KB2518867,KB2518870,KB2478663,KB2478661,KB2416472)
.NET Update(KB982526)

If you are not using BE 2010 R3, I would suggest that you upgrade to BE 2010 R3. Your existing licence keys will work. You can download BE 2010 R3 from either the fileconnect site or www.backupexec.com

Hi,
You can start troubleshooting by restarting your media server. Once done, try backing up again and see what speeds you get.
if this doesn't work, run LiveUpdate and patch your server. Push-install these patches out to any remote servers and try again.
Thanks!

Thank you for your answers.
I restarted the server,then ran LiveUpdate and patched,again restarted,but anything didn't change.
And I cannot upgrade to BE 2010 R3(now R2) because we don't have a maintenance contract
so I cannot use file-connect.Besides,I cannot find any another way to download in www.backupexec.com.
Is there any another way to get it? Please teach me in detail.
Thanks.

Just go to the Trailware section (right-hand side of the screen), click on Backup Exec, sign in with your SymAccount and download R3.

Thank you for your answer again.
'Trialware' is not only for trial... I didn't know.
Last night I upgrated to R3 and it works properly.Throughput have improved than before.
Thank you very much.

The trialware that you have downloaded is the same as the one from the fileconnect site. When you put in your licence keys, it is no longer trailware.
