Backup Exec not using oldest tape

I'm using 1 week overwrite protection.

I have 6 tapes and don't backup on weekends.

My usage of tapes is very inconsistent.

Some tapes are uses 8 times some used 2 times.

Why isn't it always using the oldest tape?

Runnon on SBS 2003, VXA-172 Tape Loader.

How many jobs do you have?
How many different media sets?

I have one nightly job.

I have 1 media set with all 6 tapes in it.

Do you have the Global Overwrite option set to None, Partial or Full?

Partial.

Note that I errored slightly above. I have 2 jobs.

The 2nd job is a tape cleaning job only. Don't know if that impacts things. It runs once a week.Message was edited by:

What is the OPP of the media set? try setting to 6 days and see if that makes any difference
