Backup Exec on Domain Controller

Hello everyone,

I have a fairly simple question. Can we install Backup Exec on a domain controller (physical or virtual)?

Is it recommended? Supported by VERITAS?

yes you can install BE on a domain controller - if you want to write to tape drives this will have to be a physical system though as tape drive connectivity to a virtual system is not supported (we do support installing in virtual as long as you are not intending to use functionality that would not be supported in virtual systems, such as tape)

I see, so there will be no problems if I installed BE on a DC? Furthermore, can I backup the local server (BE + DC) using this BE? and how?
