Backup Exec with Autoloader

We have Backup Exec 10.0 Rev. 5520 on a Windows 2003 Server.

Our Backup Device is a BDT Thinstore Changer with a LTO 3 Device inside (just one device).

The problem is: after veritas has taken control over the changer (iventory, backup, restore or so on) we can`t export the tape from their slots. The changer alway print:

unit attention, media removal prevented

the hardware reseller said that this is a problem with veritas and we must make a change in backup exec, but we don`t know where.

Is it that you want to remove the media directly without BackuPExec?

Did you try to set them offline within BackupExec?

As long as the autoloader is active withing BE, BE has the control over it.

For removing a single tape, you could use the 'Export' command (right clicking on the tape in 'Devices', seleccting 'Export'). It will then beeing moved to the mail slot and giving access to teh amil slot afterwards.
