Backup and Restore system question with Backup Exec 10d

Hi,

If you install and upgrade a backed up windows server, and the upgrade does not work or gives problems, is it possible to revert back to the previous state (without the upgrade) through the backup on the main Backup Exec Server?

Is that what the system state backup does?

The upgrade has an option to protect the original database which can then be used after uninstalling and re-installing Backup Exec - as long as care is taken not to let the uninstall accidentally remove the backup folder.

However if you are worried, stop the 10D services (including the SQL instance) and take copies of the Data and Catalogs folders - prior to performing the upgrade.
