Backup exec 10 ver.5484

Eric_Neal
Not applicable
I have just installed BE10 on one of my servers. It had ver. 8.6 on it before and ran great. The SCSI adapter is an adaptec 39160 and a Dell Powervault 110T LTO2 drive.
The problem is that I can't seem to get the backup to run better than 128MB/min. Under ver. 8.6, I was getting 1GB/min or better. However, when updating to ver. 10, the backup has slowed down greatly. Any suggestions?

usually BEWS 10 is faster than BENT 8.6

If nothing else changed, it might be the driver.
(event log has no corresponding entries etc.)

First of all, update to the actual version BEWS 10 build 5520
If this does not yet helps - stop the BE services.
start tapeinst.exe and remove all VERITAS drivers, do not use p&p and remove all dev not available.
reboot if it says so.
Stop BE service again (if rebootet)
use taoeinst.exe to reapply the actual VERITAS drivers.
(no p&p)

reboot if needed.
Restart services.

Hope it helps

Hello,

To troubleshoot this problem stop all the third pary software including antivirus scan during the backup.

-- Install latest drivers as suggested in the earlier reply also.

Use the following link to install the latest drivers.
