Backup issues after restoring database

9.1 with Windows 2003 Server with remote on Windows 2000. Tried a restore of a file and found the database was corrupt. Database stored on disk. Attempted fixes listed on website to repair and then to rebuild the database...did not resolve. Restored from pervious backup and now have many errors.

Notifications are not happening. Have users set in Tool/Options along with notification categories and have users set in job. Have matched setting I had before and that I have on another server that does it's own backup where notifications happen.

Backup job is taking far longer than it did in the past. The backup of 70gigs takes 8 hours. Used to bakup 160gigs in about 6.5 hours. This speed is with the verify option removed.

I assume they are related somehow. Did I miss something? Any suggestions?

Hello,

Have these issues started occuring since the database was reloaded from backup?

Here are a couple of documents which you could check out for the throughput issue:

* How to correct slow backup performance, slow virus or pre-job scans, and agent initialization problems on fragmented Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows 2003 server partitions

do the test notifications run fine?

Thanks!

Thank you for the quick reply. I will keep these articles handy for the future.

I attempted to restart the services and the exec engine would not stop. Rebooted the server and issue was resolved. Backup happened in alotted time and notifications happened.

Issue resolved.
