Backup job running over 40 hours

My backups have been failing lately because connection to the Backup Exec Remote Agent has been lost according to the job log. The backup session would never last more that 3 seconds. The network connectivity is fine and I restarted all the Backup Exec services and the latest backup has been running for over 40 hours. The byte counts have not changed since yesterday. What could be causing this issue? Anyone have any ideas?

Few Questions to you....

1) what kind of backup you are taking i.e. file backup, exchange, SQL......
2) backup is happening over the WAN or it is LAN base.
3) What is the size of data.
4) is the Backup exec updated.

try to take B2D backup for same remote server.

1) Daily Full incremental backup
2) LAN based
3) about 75GB Gets stuck at 53GB

Have you tried with B2D backup??????

please let me know how FULL INCREMENTAL backup happen???????

Some options for you

check if there is any packet drops between media & remote server.

reinstall the agennt on remote server.

try with creating new backup job for testing.
