We have a setup with a ISA 2006 server that created as site-to-site VPN to a remote Watchguard x20e. On the remote network there is a Windows Server 2003 with the remote agent from BackupEXEC 11d 7170 installed.
The central located BackupExec 11d 7170 server is running a diffierntial job againt the remote server, but the job always fails.
I have been running an diagnostic application called PingPlotter againt the remote server from the backup servern and the link works just fin untill the backup job starts, when it suddanly seems to drop from time to time. Just for a few seconds. But when the link is up again, the BE server dosen' seemt to be abel to reconnect to the remote agant and finish the job.
Is there any special settings that can be done to make BackupEXEC work over slow and some times unreliabel links? Of course, we will try to diagnost and fix the problem with the remote VPN link, but I haven't yet seen a VPN link that works perfect all the time, so it would be nice if the system could handel these kind of events.
