Backup stops on some files

The backup starts and runs for a while then it stops on a file and the transfer rate drops to about 1mb/min and it stays there for about 15 min. And everytime it is the same file. The file is 558 kb and it is a qdf (image file)

I tried running it without that folder, then it stops again at another file and does the same thing.

Hi,

It is a local backup. The error: A hardware error has occurred. Event id 34113.

But the tape drive has been replaced. It is new,and the latest drivers and firmware loaded. And the controllers as well. How come it runs fine until it gets to certain files, then it stops, and times out (basically) NT Backup does the same and on the same files.

When I run HP Tape tools, the tape runs fine and it writes a full tape, without error.

Hardware errors usually occur if the drive is faulty or the media is damaged. have you tried using a new media?

Perform the following steps:

1. Power cycle (shutdown and restart)the device and the server.

2. Clean the device as per manufacturer's instructions .

3. Ensure that the device firmware is up-to-date.

Replaced the scsi cable and everything is working 100%
