Backup taking 35 hours to backup less than 1 MB

Hello,

I manage about 30 companies servers and all of a sudden, one by one, the backups are starting to take an excessive amount of time to do any kind of backup. Over the last 4 days I have had 7 different servers at different companies go from completing their backup jobs in 1 to 4 hours to now taking several days to complete about 1% of the backup and there have been no changes made to any of these servers or backups.

The servers are running either BE 9.1 or BE 10.0
All servers are using normal processor usage (less than 20%)
No changes have been made to the servers
I can't find any errors in the Event logs or Backup Logs
I scanned for virus' and spyware and found nothing.
I checked the knowledge base and can't find anything obvious

I am generally stumped, any help would be appreciated.

Hi Daniel,

I know you said no changes were made but..

Any chance of a Windows update that was automatically deployed?

I'm just trying to work out how multiple clients can be affected by the same problem.

Hi,

-backups are running on tapes or on Backup-to-disk folders ?

-are these all remote or locak backups ?

-any other patch or hotfix installed on backup server and then reinstalled remote agent ??
