Backup Exec for Windows server (BEWS) v10.0 supports the backing up of data on CD R-W and DVD-RW .
You have to create removable backup-to-disk folders on any removable device, provided the device appears as a drive letter and is formatted with a file system.
Removable devices can include CDR, CDR-W, DVD-R, DVD-RW , ZIP, JAZZ and Removable hard disk.
Note :For CDR, CDR-W, DVD-R, and DVD-RW, third-party software must be used to format the media with a file system before it can be used with Backup Exec.
VERITAS Backup Exec 9.x/10.X for Windows Servers adds a new feature called "Removable Backup to Disk Folder." This folder supports directing backup jobs to the following removable media:
1. CD-R
2. CD-RW
3. Digital video disc - recordable (DVD-R)
4. Digital video disc - rewritable (DVD-RW)
5. ZIP
6. JAZZ
7. Removable Hard Disk ( REV drives fall under this category)
