I plan to backup to 3 firewire connected external hard drives. I want to allow for off-site retention, so I plan to disconnect one drive each week and send if off site. I plan to do a Friday Full backup with Monday through Thursday as Differential backups. What is the best way to set up this backup routine considering the need for a weekly off-site data retention?
Create a 5 folder on each hard drive with the same name for each day -Monday through Friday. Create 5 different backup jobs-MOn to Friday targetted on the respective folders. move the hard drive offsite at the end of week. after changing the harddrive just perform the scan operation and that should detect the newly connected hard drive.
