Am I correct in hearing that BackupExec 10.1 will be released soon or is that just another name for BackupExec 10.0 with SP1?

Hello,

The Backup Exec v10.1 will be released soon. It is not Backup Exec v10.0 with SP1.

Regards

Ok, so I find out that the versions 10.1, 10d and MP2 are all the same. Clever. Some more questions if I may...

1. What improvements and fixes have been made in 10.1 (10d) over 10.0 Build 5520 SP1? There are a number of issues I could list here with 10.0. I would prefer to see a list to know if the latest version will resolve some issues I'm having.

2. I assume 10.1 is a free upgrade? (being only a minor version number difference I would imagine so)

3. I assume I can simply download 10.1 from
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/279332.htm rather than wait for the media to arrive?

4. If I run this (500MB) install above, directly over the top of an existing 10.0 install, will it detect and upgrade it?

Yes, the 10.1 detects and upgrades the version 10.

Biggest difference is the appearance of the UI, it is all 'symantecish' now.
Some windows got rearranged.
