I have a customer that has bought a new HP Autoloader with one LTO3 drive in it.
They have also bought some barcode labels.
I have used BE for years but never with barcodes before.
I have attached the labels to all their tapes, but in the past they label the tapes to their own system (ie Pre end of day, Full A, Full B, Month End, Year End etc etc)
I put the barcoded tapes in the loader and manually added them to various media sets that I had created for each different type of tape.
When I do an Inventory I get an error, I read that I dont need to do inventories with barcodes, so I did a scan.
This doesnt always work, and when it does, the media label becomes the same as the barcode.
Tried renaming the tapes to the customers system, but it still calls them the same as the barcode...?
How can I get the customer's names on the tapes so we know what tapes are loaded etc?
Is there a way to tie the customers name to the barcode somehow?
Think I may give up on the barcoding altogether if I cant see the point of it!
