I'm trying to backup my Exchange Server 2010 running on win2008R2

The Remote Agent crashes on the remote server after a short period, and I get this error in Backup Exec.

Completed status: Failed Final error: 0xe000fe30 - A communications failure has occurred. Final error category: Server Errors For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-65072

The remote servers logs an entry in the eventlog:

Log Name:      Application

Date:          17.02.2010 00:38:05
Event ID:      257
Task Category: (1)
Level:         Information
Keywords:      Classic
User:          N/A
Computer:      servername.domain.loc
Description:
A memory dump has been captured C:\Program Files\SYMANTEC\BACKUP EXEC\RAWS\BEDBG\beremote.exe_3048_0.dmp

Setting the BE Rem Agent service to restart on failures does not help.
Ive have tried reinstalling the remote agent, same error.

My backupserver is win2008 64bits with BE2010 b2896 with hotfix 339930 (was upgraded from 12.5)

How can i troubleshoot/ fix ths?

Unfortunately Symantec knows about this issue and does not have a fix yet. If you learn of one please let me know.  I have opened up a case myself.

It will back up the Exchange Information Store itself.  The OS can not be  backed up at least for me.

I also upgraded from BE 12.5 on Saturday.

If you are also seeing EventID 1202 warnings in your application log, read these articles from Microsoft

KB977695 and KB974639

Mine came right after resolving those, probably due to .NET

Essentially this is due to a bug in the GP editor on windows 7 and server 2k8R2

Edit %SYSTEMROOT%\SYSVOL\<domainname>\Policies\<Unique ID>\Machine\Microsoft\Windows NT\SecEdit\GptTmpl.inf

in Mine, the location was
C:\Windows\SYSVOL\domain\Policies\{6AC1786C-016F-11D2-945F-00C04fB984F9}\MACHINE\Microsoft\Windows NT\SecEdit\GptTmpl.inf

I replaced all instanced of "Classic .NET AppPool" with "IIS AppPool\Classic .NET AppPool"
"DefaultAppPool" with "IIS AppPool\DefaultAppPool"
and  "WdiServiceHost" with "nt service\WdiServiceHost"

Without the "" of coarse
