Bug: Custom filters do not work as described.

Pretty sure this is a bug in BackupExec but since I'm the only person to experience it, it's unlikely to appear in the knowledgebase for a while. I'm documenting this here in case anyone else sees it.

The documentation for custom filters state that if you enter 'bat' for the job name, any jobs containing the word 'bat' will be displayed.

This does not work. You have to enter the exact name for jobs in order for them to be displayed. Entering part of a name does not return any results.

Ross,
ya it's a bug because I'm having the same problem. but i figured out a work around enter % as a wildcard.

say you want to jobs called Full Backup, but your jobs are all named "full backup - servername" enter %full backup%

it will return the wildcard results.

Hello,

The issue you have mentioned is a known issue with Backup Exec 10.0 and we are curently working on it. you can meanwhile use the workaround suggested in the previous post and check the results and accordingly write back to the forum.

Regards.
