Two questions about Backupexec 11D + CPS
1. What type of verification does the Media/CPS Server do to the host to verify the data it backed up (in real time) is good? When you backup to tape, it does a verification pass after the fact; when a CPS does a backup of a changed file, does it immediately do a read-after-write file to file comparison, or what?
2. When making snapshot backups, I would like to be able to do incremental backups between snapshots, if that is possible (may not be?). Currently, I do a full backup to Disk on day 1, then days 2-7, I do incremental backups. When I was evaluating CPS, even if I scheduled a backup of a snapshot and selected incremental, it still did a full backup of the entire data set. The goal is to make daily snapshots, then at the end of the week, do a full backup of the first snapshot to tape, then do incremental backups from snapshots of days 2-7.
