Hi,
We are trying to centralize tape backup operations. HAve two Datacenters each with tape libraries and Deduplication Storage. Also have CASO setup. What I'd like to do is tell server A to backup conent to local deduplication storage and duplicate that backup set to remote dedup storage in remote Datacenter. I thought I could have just created another stage to say send that replicated set to tape (Server B will handle that) but it seems that it's only the local server (server A) is allowed to access tape library (located in remote Datacenter) which just isn't practical.
Does BE not allow this? Do I need to look at NetBackup instead? Can NetBackup do what I need?
I have attached a file with the options available to me

What is the device of remote deduplication storage?
Server A must have the access to the remote deduplication storage to duplicate the backup set.

It's Datadomain.... that isn't the problem. I've got that setup... that's the easy part. The part i have issues with is telling the BE server that is local to the replicated destination to send that to tape. To me it looks like it's the remote server that backed up the content originally needs access to tape library at the remote destination.
