Can BE15 backup MongoDB

Can BE15 backup MongoDB? Any version limit? Need to input the DB license? any requirement for MMS?

MongoDB is not listed in the SCL for any version of BE.

You could probably dump the MongoDB using the native DB utilities and then backup the dump file using BE. But there is no DB Agent specifically for this DB.

Can you explain more why BE cannot support this DB type? Because of the DB structure?

After use it's own DB utilities to dump the DB to file, then BE back up the dump file like normal Windows file backup?  And the DB utilities of MongoDB suppose can restore by the dump file backed up by BE ?

It takes time and effort to produce and test a backup agent for an application/database.  It is a commercial decision as to which database is supported.  If there are enough demand for support of a particular database, then an agent would be developed.  You can post your requirement for an agent for the MongoDB as an Idea in the Ideas section.  If there are enough people supporting your Idea, an agent maybe developed for some future release of BE.

Restore is a 2-step process, use BE to restore the flat files that is produced by the DB's utility and then use the database's built-in utility to restore the database from the flat files.

No.  What he meant is the there is no BE agent to backup/restore MongoDB databases.
