Can I backup folders on a windows 2000 server with desktop laptop optio

I have Backup Exec 10.0 with the desktop and laptop option.
I was wondering if I could backup folders on a remote server with the desktop and laptop option. The server is not running any server function. It is an older machine that I kept when I got a new server. The only stuff on this so called server are shared folders for users to store files. I do not want to backup the system state or anything server related just select users folders. Can I do this or do I need the remote server agent?

Also what OS's does the desktop and Laptop option fun on?

No DLO is not supported and will not install on a server OS.

DLO supports Win2000 Pro and XP SP1 and above.
