Can you mix tape and disk on the same backup job

Have an 8 slot library. Slot 1 is cleaning, 2-6 are for Monday through Friday Backups, 7 for an hourly job, and 8 for Month End.

I am maxing out the tapes on the weekday jobs. Each job is set to use a tape in a certain slot. Is there a way to configure the job to use tape, and then, if the media is full, finish the backup on disk?

If the media is full in the slots then you cannot finish the job using a backup to disk folder.

Partitions are not limited to 1 slot

It would require you to swap tapes mid week and pehaps juggle other slot assignments, but you could setup two slot partitions and point the jobs to them
