Due lack space, I deleted some bkf file from Explorer, but now I cannot remove the backup sets from the BE2012 Backup Sets TABs?

What is the message that you get when you try to delete the backup sets?

In BE 2012, disk storage is managed by DLM and DLM will not delete the last recovery point of a server.  See this document

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH201826

However, if you want to force DLM not to retain the last recovery point, see this document

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH187957

The Error Message I saw is

Unablae to delete the {0}.

Unknown reason: {0}

But after I run inventory and catalog, some of the backup sets can be removed, just left some cannot be removed with the above error.

If you have not already done so, download and install SP2

Backup Exec 2012 revision 1798 Service Pack 2

Remember to push out the remote agents after updating to SP2.

This usually happens when the association between the UI's backup sets and the physical backup sets on disk is lost by manually deleting the physical sets from disk.

Would recommend to log a support case & refer http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH206214
