Cannot delete backup job created by policy

I have a redundant backup job (e.g. incremental backup) pending which I cannot remove. This backup job was created by a policy however this policy has now been removed. I have tried to run the "Repair Database" option as advised on a previous thread however this makes no difference.

How can I remove this backup job?

Hello Kim,

If the Backup Job Policy has been deleted before the job, its difficult to get rid of the Job.

You could try the following:
- Title:- Repairing Backup Exec 9.x and 10.x for Windows Servers http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/253199.htm

- As a test, you could also try creating a new Policy with the same name and settings. This might get the job to link to this Policy. And then try deleting the Job before the policy.

Hope that helps.

I have tried both of your suggestions but unfortunately neither of them work.

Can you suggest anything else?

Hi,

Its difficult to get rid of such "stray" jobs.

Did you try creating a policy with the same name as before?

The only way is to start with a new Backup Exec database.

How to create a new SQL database in Backup Exec 9.x and 10.0 when the original database is corrupt and cannot be repaired
